One of South Florida's most impressive development sagas began in the late 1970's when Swire Realty's parent company, based in Hong Kong and London, first caught sight of a barren 44-acre spoil island nestled at the mouth of the Miami River.
Drawing on nearly 200 years of expertise in spotting business opportunity, they saw immense promise here - and founded Swire Properties as a US subsidiary tasked with managing the development of this unique property, soon christened Brickell Key.
Fast forward 25 years and millions in capital invested, and Brickell Key has evolved into one of the world's most acclaimed mixed-use urban island communities. Thanks to remarkable foresight and responsible environmental stewardship, the island still boasts invigorating green spaces, impressive art installations, and a sense of quiet privacy - even with its 10 condominium towers, 3,000 residents, five-star luxury hotel, twin corporate office buildings, and a bustling streetside marketplace.
